Tortilla Factory is Herndon's oldest restaurant and it's hugely popular. They have a large dining room, great for parties. They have Open Mic night every Tuesday. Some people think the chips and salsa are the best, and many people order them to go. They offer a lot of coupons and lunch specials, and the portions are generous. They do not have a full bar, but they serve wine and beer. Catering available.

I was disappointed in the food and service . There was not enough seasoning
in the food, (can you say tasteless) and the rice was hard. Then the older waiter
told a 13 year old, "if you read the menu you would have known what's in the meal."

I have been going to Tortila Factory for as long as I can remember. This is
one of the best places to eat and VERY good Mexican rice...the best rice and Salsa you will ever taste. Service was great, food was great very nice ambience and feel. They have something on the menu for everyone! Keep up the great work TortillaFactory!

First I was overcharged and the menu stated 3 skewers or "Carne Asada" but was delivered 2. Then I had a to go order and ordered some quacamole to go. Well when I found they had shorted me the skewer when I looked at my order at my car. I noticed there were no "Chips or Tortillas in the order". I asked about that and they stated if I chose to eat in the dining room I would get complimentary chips, salsa, and tortillas of my choosing, if not I would have to pay for them. I spent 18 dollars for un-edible carne? asada black beans and rice,,,,they were still frosted not even cooked through??? DONT EAT HERE unless you plan on eating in. I visit this area often and my company sends many people here. I will tell all of them "NOT TO EAT THERE"

The service and food quality have declined recently - not to Taco Bell standards but it's no longer the "hidden gem" of Herndon. We arrived for lunch and found ourselves at a sticky table crammed together with several other parties. 3 other parties were seated after us but our order was taken last (no recognition from the server for 5+ minutes). The food itself is still good but the freshness didn't seem as good as before. The flavors are more muted and generic - sadly disappointing.

I cannot understand anyone thinking this is a bad Mexican restaurant. If anything, this is the closest you'll get to real Sonoran-style Mexican food and I would know as I come from Arizona where Sonoran-style is what's served. I have eaten here 100s of times since I moved here in 92 and overall their food has always been very good and very consistent. My only wish is that they would update the decor to something a bit nicer. With the kind of business they do and the years they've been in service I know they can afford it. Also, I'd like to see them do a good deep-down cleaning (walls scrubbed, windows, etc.). Again, their food is very good (as the # of years they've been there attest) so they're obviously doing something right. They just need to spruce it up a bit as every restaurant after a period of time needs some refurbishing and this place is due. Otherwise, keep up the good work!

I've been to The Tortilla Factory several times over the last few years, and while I've never been a huge fan, It has always been a decent experience. This last visit however, highlighted how far behind the restaurant curve they have fallen. The ambiance falls somewhere between romper room (if there are kids dining) and a Mcdonald's. The tables and chairs are old and cheap. The food was below par for Mexican food in this area. I had a beef burrito that was very bland, despite additional salsa. Finally this restaurant had the gall to charge $5.95 for a bottle of Dos Equis beer. Sorry but this ain't Rio Grande, and I don't think they would even charge 6 bucks for a beer. I WILL NOT BE BACK!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. GREAT salsa and guacamole. The beef machaca (in enchiladas or burritos) is excellent- very tender and great spices. I have always had a great dining experience at Tortilla Factory.

This is not Mexican food! Putting a few boiled tomatoes on over cooked and under seasoned white rice does not, I repeat, DOES NOT make it Mexican. The food was 100% flavorless! I will never ever go there again nor will I ever understand why so many northern Virginia’s do. Perhaps the lack of real food in the area has cause Virginia to believe that the tortilla factory is a great place to eat. I hate to say this because I've been living here for years now, but the tortilla factory is the icing on a very bland cake.
