SBC is a small, quiet, upscale restaurant with a Louisiana flair. The menu features a variety of sophisticated salads, sandwiches and dinner entrees including the widest selection of seafood you can find in Herndon, (which does not say much). While hidden on the side of a strip mall between a drycleaner and a nail salon, this restaurant is surprisingly romantic and cozy, with soft music, candles and formal table settings. The service is good and the food is exceptional. The wine selection (and coffee selection) is extensive. SBC is open Mon-Fri and on Saturdays for dinner only. Lunch and sandwiches are $7-$11 and dinner entrees are $18-$25. SBC also caters corporate and private events; look for the special catering menu.

I've eaten here a number of times over the last few months and the food is fabulous! Try the Pepper Jack Soup or the Yellow/Orange Pepper soup. I had the Chicken Pot Pie the other night and it was outstanding!! My guy had the lamb shank and duck another night, both were excellent. Don't understand the review about bad service, 'cause the owner is a woman. But we've had outstanding service there, including specials as we've frequented there often. Try it out.

Great food. Good service. Can't really handle groups of more than 4 and we had 9 in our group and we had called ahead. A little disappointed that there was not a single menu item that contained basil, but now that I know the name is meaningless to the food, won't have that expectation next time I visit. The Turkey and brie on focaccia was excellent; it was the softest focaccia bread ever. Everyone in our group loved their meal. Am still regretting not trying the soup special of cream of pepper jack cheese and black beans. So I'll definitely have to go back.

Excellent. The web site indicated they had the largest selection of seafood in the area. I went there for fish but mackerel didn't appeal to me that evening so I had their Cilantro Lamb Shank. It absolutely delicious. Slow cooked and perfectly seasoned on top of garlic mashed potatoes with a marinated pear on the side. That and a glass of wine made for a very nice supper. Not too busy. Only two other guests. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I discovered this hidden treasure for lunch one day. We have been back at least once a week since. This place is amazing! The food is outstanding, always tastes fresh and everything we have tried has been amazing. Always start with the soup! The pepperjack and black bean is our favorite...but every soup they offer has been delicious.Great atmosphere, friendly service, quaint, quick, reasonably priced and TASTY!!

I drove 1.5 hours to indulge in great gumbo, escargot and bread pudding that rivals the one at B. Smith in DC. This is a fantastic gem of a restaurant - it's small and elegant but not stuffy. The staff is very friendly and will split orders in the kitchen just so you're a happy customer. We had the rockfish coated in tortilla chips that was very flavorful and balanced with herbed cilantro rice, the very spicy Cajun shrimp, the NY strip w/ habernero sauce, and the rack of lamb that was roasted to perfection. We ordered 4 appetizers, 5 entrees and 3 desserts thinking someone would have a doggie bag to take home - NOPE. We finished everything simply b/c it was too tasty to leave on the plate.
I hope you discover the SBC Cafe for yourself! You will NOT be disappointed!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! It's a hidden gem. Everything I've had is wonderful. The bell pepper soup is to die for - and this is coming from someone who hates bell peppers. Go there. You won't regret it.

The quality of this restaurant is superb. We have been there twice in the last two years, but plan on making this a more frequent stop. We both had fish specials, each was unique and delicious. The prices are a bit higher than similar dishes at Clyde's for fish dishes, but the preparation is fantastic. The soups are also tasty, although the temperature could be a bit higher. Dessert was wonderful. We visited early last night, and only two other parties came in while we ate. More people need to discover this gem to make sure they stay in business!
