The Salvadorian Deli, also called "El Barrio" is a Hispanic minimart with a small kitchen in the back with just a few tables. There is a picture menu on the wall, and a paper menu in Spanish with English descriptions. If you are not opposed to working through a possible language barrier, you can experience an authentic Central American dining experience, well prepared and at a very reasonable price. Opening at 9am you can get a $5 breakfast with a choice of eggs, chorizo (Spanish sausage) and plantains. There are several appetizers under $2 including tamales and papusas, and several varieties of Central American soups. Most entrees are $7-$10 and come with salad, rice, beans, guacamole or avacado, and homemade tortillas. There is a selection of Central American beverages and desserts as well. Credit cards accepted.
