WOW! Thursday night, 9pm. I arranged a get together of ten people. The
service was HEINOUS. There are three round booths, two of which were taken
by couples. The other was empty except for a dead hookah, so I asked our
waitress if my party could sit at the abandoned booth- she said the manager
was sitting there but it could be moved. The owner came by our tables
and said he couldn't let us sit there because he was already and that
he was expecting friends. We decided we could live with four tables pushed
together and were ready to order three hookahs. We asked her for a recommendation
for the shisha- she said "I only work here, I don't smoke the hookah."
We asked if we could have a pot of turkish coffee- and said condescendingly
that it only came in cups. " You can't have a pot- tea comes in a
cup." Apparently, they do not care about PAYING PATRONS and do not
operate on a first come/first served basis. We were flabbergasted, thus
we brought our business to Alf Laylah in Chantilly instead. (Hookah there
is $3 cheaper, by the way.)

I was excited to hear of this new Middle Eastern restaurant. The decor
is
really nice - upscale without being pretentious, as the menu says. The
staff was
also friendly. Beef Shawarma wrap was slightly fatty and chewy - the meat
was
thicker than that of most M.E. restaurants - and quite salty. I liked
the other
aspects of this restaurant well enough that I will come back, but try
something
different next time. The homemade potato chips were very good - a nice
hybrid of potato chip and french fry. Lunch special is a good deal - sandwich
and can of soda for $5.95.
